Saturday the 21st of May was a great day to celebrate the 48th Annual Hanford Vintage Motorcycle Rally at the Kings Fairground. Temperatures were in the mid 70's making conditions perfect for checking out all the vendor's parts, bikes and memorabilia.

Hanford grows a little each year, with most of our new vendor's coming from the all over the Central California area. The bike show is not always the biggest, but always has the most unusual entries. Once again, this year’s entries did not disappoint. The European Class really expanded this year with a lot of new entries.  Nick Dounias from Hagerty's Insurance returned to make his selection for the Hagerty's Choice Award and to present of trophies to the lucky winners.

New this year was Lucas Oil’s co-sponsorship of the Show, and their presence was enjoyed by one and all. Lucas presented our lucky show winners and many of the entrants with some great gift bags full of goodies. Lucas also gave goody bags to all of the Hanford spectators and attendees when they entered through the main gate in the morning. Lucas Oil not only brings a great line of motorcycle products to Off-Roaders and Racers alike, but supports the vintage and classic motorcycle enthusiast as well. Lucas was represented in our bike show by Hector Cademartori, who did a fine job of choosing the very deserving winner.

You may have noticed that we lined up our vendors a bit differently this year, lining them up against the East fence. Due to this change, we had a larger area in the middle that looked a bit empty, but our vendor numbers were actually up a bit over last year.

In this year’s swap meet you could find a whole lot of just about anything. Dirt bikes were up over years past, and I noticed we also had a finer selection of rolling projects.

As I mentioned earlier, we had an impressive turnout of European parts and rollers. Show results are online now, and we expect to have the show photos online very soon.

Another first time event at this year’s show was the first ever presentation of The Owen Vintage Motorcycle Collection Outstanding Enthusiast Award. This award was chosen by Tom White and presented to Lee Fabry, have a look at our Owen memorial page with pictures and a description of the Award and the reason we’ve added it to our show.

A very special thank you to all of my friends without whom this Rally wouldn't be possible, I am very grateful for all of your help. To my wife Nancy for her help and support, and to everyone else that makes the trek to Hanford, California, the third Saturday in May, to make California's Best Little Show & Swap Meet what it is.

48th Annual HANFORD
Vintage Motorcycle Show & Swap Meet
Saturday May 21, 2016

Kings Fairground
801 South 10th Ave Hanford, CA 93232

Hello everyone, at Classic Cycle Events we are excited for a great 2016, but first, I want to take a minute to address the situation at Irwindale Raceway, to clear up any confusion. Due to a potential construction project that is forecasted to begin later this year, the Irwindale Raceway has been unable to provide us with concrete dates for our El Camino event. As a result of this uncertainty, we will only have the 48th Annual Hanford Show & Swap this year.  So if you have been putting off checking out Hanford, because El Camino was closer or easier, this year might be the reason to make the drive and check out the "Best" little meet in California.

I'd like to welcome back Nick Dounias, our favorite Hagerty's Classic Bike Insurance Agent. He will again be sponsoring the two Hagerty's Choice Awards, as he has so graciously done for us the past three years. Hagerty's Insurance remains the Classic Cycle Events Bike Insurance of choice.

VanTech returns as well with Bill VanTichelt  judging and awarding a trophy in each of five classes, including: Best VanTech Classic Kit, Best VanTech as Raced, Best Custom & Best Offroad VanTech and the Best Restored VanTech. when registering mention you want to be in the VanTech Classes.
I also want to extend a warm welcome to Lucas Oil, they are our new co-sponsor of the Classic Cycle Events Motorcycle Show. Lucas will be offering special prizes to the class winners. Not only will our winners get a trophy, but some great motorcycle care products as well.

This years event promises to be the Best yet! So come on, make the drive and help us make Hanford 2016 the biggest, best show ever. It really is a great event and if you've never been, this is your year. There is a reason this show has been going strong for 48 years and counting and is California's oldest and longest running show & swap.

See you there!
